About Longhorn Quidditch

You may be familiar with Quidditch from its origins as the fictional sport in the Harry Potter series; however, since its adaptation in 2005, the real-life sport has rapidly grown in popularity to become an organized competitive sport played in over 40 countries. Quidditch (now known as quadball) is a co-ed, full-contact sport involving elements of rugby, basketball, and dodgeball. Longhorn Quidditch -- the organization encompassing all quidditch activity at UT -- is divided into two components: traveling teams and house teams. Our traveling team (Texas Quadball) competes against other college programs around the state and country, whereas our house team is intramural and competes in internal matches near campus. Quadball is open to everyone, no matter athletic background or interest in Harry Potter!
